The Walking Wounded: (updated/revised)
Tony Romo will wear a splint on his right pinkie. He
may have some accuracy issues but is a start against
a 49ers secondary that has yielded 6.7 ypa & 15 TD's
on the season.
Matt Schaub had a setback in his rehab and is likely
to miss another 4 weeks, if not, the remainder of the
season. Sage Rosenfels is a solid play vs. the Browns
if the weather cooperates.
Matt Hasselbeck practiced fully & will start against
Arizona. He is a reasonable play as the Cards have
allowed a league high 19 passing TD's.
Brady Quinn has a small fracture on the ring finger
of his throwing hand. He is expected to start but is a
risky play even though he has faces a porous Texans
secondary. Grab Derek Anderson if he's available.
Steve Slaton has been limited with a bruised chest.
He is expected to play vs. the Browns.
Brandon Jacobs is listed as probable but is likely
to have his number of carries reduced to minimize
the hits on his sore knee. Derrick Ward will get a
fair share of the touches but is only a fair play vs.
Arizona which has yielded 3.8 ypc & just 7 rushing
TD's. This is a tough situation due to the uncertainty
surrounding the distribution of totes but Jacobs is
too productive to sit if he is indeed active and starting.
Brian Westbrook has knee and ankle ailments that
have limited his practice routines. He's going to be a
game time decision against a Ravens rush defense
that was embarrassed by the Giants. Buckhalter
is likely to receive the bulk of the carries. Avoid this
situation.
Steven Jackson is out. Antonio Pittman gets the
start vs. the Bears but is a poor play.
Earnest Graham is out for the year with an injured
ankle. Warrick Dunn will get the call & is a solid play
vs. a run defense that has yielded 5.1 ypc & 17 TD's.
Cadillac Williams strained a hamstring in practice
and is not likely to play vs. Lions.
LenDale White was limited with a calf injury. He has
a tough opponent in the Jets. He's listed as probable.
Kevin Smith took it easy in practice while nursing a
sore groin. He's a tepid play vs. a solid Bucs run D.
Clinton Portis continues to miss practice. He's likely
to play vs. the Seahawks but is listed as questionable
and will be a dreaded game time decision.
Willis McGahee tweaked an ankle but it is not thought
to be serious. Ray Rice would get the start if McGahee
is out or limited. Neither back is a great play against the
Eagles stout run defense.
Selvin Young will be inactive for the Raiders. Peyton
Hillis will get the start but look for Tatum Bell to get
additional touches. Both backs have merit vs. Oakland
which has allowed 4.8 ypc and 15 rushing TD's. Hillis is
the preferred play due to goal line touches.
Darren McFadden may get an increased workload vs.
the Broncos. He played sparingly vs. the Dolphins but
reported no adverse affect on his turf toes. McFadden,
who practiced, and Justin Fargas are solid plays vs. a
run defense that yields 4.9 ypc.
Reggie Bush is improving and feels that he'll be ready
to face an awful Packers run defense on Monday night.
Bush missed practice on Friday and would need to work
with the team today to be in position to play. Check back
on Sunday for additional information. Pierre Thomas
is a great add, as insurance, if available, as Green Bay
yields 4.9 ypc.
Deuce McAllister had to have a knee drained and may
be limited vs. the Packers. He's probable.
Felix Jones is out for the season which bodes well for
Marion Barber owners.
Calvin Johnson returned to practice and is expected
to play vs. the Bucs.
Roddy White practiced and is questionable to play vs.
the Panthers as he deals with a bruised back.
Marques Colston was limited in practice by a balky
knee but is probable for the Packers. He has a tough
matchup as Green Bay has a great pass defense.
Plaxico Burress strained a hamstring in practice and
is questionable for the Cards on Sunday.
Matt Jones practiced fully and should start against the
Vikings. He's a serviceable #3.
Derrick Mason is still suffering from a shoulder injury.
Look elsewhere for a #3 as Mason has a tough start vs.
a solid Eagles secondary.
Tony Gonzalez practiced fully and is expected to play
against the Bills.
Jason Witten is still limited with sore ribs but is likely
to start vs. the 49ers.
Kellen Winslow had an MRI on his shoulder and is iffy
for the Texans tilt on Sunday. He has a shoulder sprain.
Patriots NT Vince Wilfork missed practice with a toe
injury. His absence would afford Ronnie Brown & Ricky
Williams major upgrades.
Colts SS Bob Sanders is questionable for the Chargers.
LaDainian Tomlinson is likely to have a monster game
if Sanders sits.
Shutdown CB Champ Bailey has returned to practice. He
will shutdown WR1's but the Raiders have no such threat.
Ronald Curry is playable even if Bailey starts, as they
will line him up against Dre Bly. Curry gets an upgrade if
Champ is inactive.
Orlando Pace will miss several weeks, at the minimum,
with an MCL injury. It's best to avoid all Rams, if possible
as they have an angry Bears defense coming for a visit.

Start/Sit: (Week 12)
1. QB's: Matchups
The Standard: 300 yards, 2 TD, 0 Int = 20 points
Favorable:
Jason Campbell- has been underachieving of late but has
a favorable opponent in the Seahawks which have allowed
7.5 ypa and 15 TD's.
Kyle Orton- has the perfect bounce back matchup vs. the
Rams whose secondary is porous allowing 8.4 ypa and 15
TD's
Matt Cassel- has the perfect storm. He's white hot, faces
a defense that stops the run & is soft against the pass. The
Dolphins have yielded 7.0 ypa and 12 TD's.
Good Bet: Garcia vs. Lions, Edwards vs. Chiefs
Pennington vs. Patriots, Quinn vs. Texans
Frerotte vs. Jaguars
Unfavorable:
Brett Favre- the Titans are stingy allowing only 5.2 ypa
and just 5 aerial TD's. Favre is prone to lose patience and
could force the action resulting in turnovers.
Matt Hasselbeck- runs into a stout coverage secondary.
The Redskins frustrate opposing QB's yielding 5.9 ypa.
Joe Flacco- this young gun will face intense pressure from
the Eagles which hold enemy signal callers to 5.9 ypa with
36 sacks in 10 games.
Bad Bet: Brees vs. Packers, Ryan vs. Panthers
Culpepper vs. Bucs, Warner vs. Giants,
Hill vs Cowboys
2. RB's: Matchups (starting a #2)
The Standard: 110 yards rush, 30 yards rec, 1 TD = 20 pts
Favorable:
Justin Fargas- has a favorable matchup vs. Denver
which yields an abysmal 4.9 ypc.
Warrick Dunn- will be the featured back as Earnest
Graham may be done for the year with an ankle injury.
The Lions are an awful defense giving 5.1 ypc & 17 TD's
D'Angelo Williams- runs against a Falcons interior
defense which has granted 4.9 ypc and 11 TD's.
Good Bet: Lynch vs. Chiefs, Lewis vs. Texans
Slaton vs. Browns, Forte vs. Rams
Unfavorable: (sitting a #2)
Maurice Jones-Drew- has the unenviable task of facing
the great wall of Minnesota. He becomes a must start if
Kevin and Pat Williams are suspended this week for
using a banned substance. Otherwise, not so much.
Chris Johnson- the Jets stop the run. They allow only
3.2 ypc with just 7 TD's.
Willis McGahee- will find tough running vs. the Eagles
front 7 which yields 3.6 ypc & only 5 TD's. Ray Rice will
suffer the same fate if he has to play for McGahee who
has a sore ankle.
Bad Bet: Benson vs. Steelers, J. Jones vs. Redskins
Westbrook vs. Ravens, S. Jackson vs. Bears
3. WR's: Matchups
The Standard: 80 yards, 1 TD = 14 points
Favorable: (starting a #3)
Lee Evans- should have a bounce back effort against a
soft Chiefs secondary. He was shutout by the Browns.
Santana Moss- has a great matchup vs the Seahawks
which allow 7.5 ypa.
Antonio Bryant- has replaced Joey Galloway as the
Bucs #1 and faces a weak Lions defense.
Good Bet: Walter vs. Browns, Berrian vs. Jaguars,
Ginn vs. Patriots, Lloyd vs. Rams
Unfavorable: (sitting a #3)
Jerricho Cotchery- is likely to disappear vs. the Titans.
Chad Johnson- the Steelers will smother Ocho Cinco.
Lance Moore- will have to savor last week's performance
vs. the Chiefs as the Packers pass defense is world class.
Bad Bet: Coles vs. Titans, Branch vs. Redskins
Bruce vs. Cowboys, Jenkins vs. Panthers
4. TE's: Matchups
The Standard- 40 yards, .3 TD = 6 points
Favorable:
Greg Olsen- Orton will air it out vs. the Rams with Olsen
being a primary target.
Owen Daniels- will awaken from a 2 game hibernation vs
the Browns.
Zach Miller- likely to have a major role in an awful Raiders
offense against a generous Broncos pass defense.
Good Bet: Royal vs. Chiefs, Stevens vs. Lions
Cooley vs. Seahawks
Unfavorable:
L.J. Smith- will struggle against Ed Reed & the rest of his
Ravens buddies.
Jeremy Shockey- the Packers overall pass defense is 2nd
only to the Steelers.
Dustin Keller- will be marked by the Titans after having
2 big games in a row for the Jets.
Bad Bet: V. Davis vs. Cowboys, Carlson vs. Redskins
Heap vs. Eagles
5. K's: Matchups
The Standard- 2 FG's, 1/40+, 3 Pat's = 10 points
Favorable:
Adam Vinatieri- the Colts offense will score early and
often vs. the Chargers.
Matt Prater- has the strongest leg in football & kicks at
home vs. the Raiders.
Robbie Gould- should have plenty of opportunities as
the Bears move the ball at will vs. the Rams.
Good Bet: Bryant vs. Lions, Crosby vs. Saints
Unfavorable:
Jay Feely- the Tennessee defense is unyielding allowing a
league best 13.1 ppg.
Shayne Graham- the Bengals will be hitting a stone wall
vs. the Steelers.
Matt Stover- will not get many chances against the Eagles.
Bad Bet: Nedney vs. Cowboys, Scobee vs. Vikings
6. DEF's: Matchups
The Standard- 13 points allowed, 3 turnovers, 2 sacks = 12 pts
Favorable:
Philadelphia- will take out last week's frustration vs.
the Bengals on the Flacco and the Ravens.
Tampa Bay- faces a Lions team that is dreadful. The
Bucs should be able to control the line of scrimmage on
both sides of the ball.
Pittsburgh- should dominate an overmanned Bengals
squad.
Good Bet: Chicago vs. Rams, Washington vs. Seahawks
Unfavorable:
Miami- the New England offense has been improving
week over week. The Patriots should find the Dolphins
secondary quite accomodating.
San Diego- Peyton Manning doesn't take sacks and is
careful with the ball. The Colts offense is gearing up.
Baltimore- McNabb will take a great deal of heat for a
sloppy performance in Cincinnati. He is likely to play
well against a solid defense that was demoralized by the
Giants.
Bad Bet: New Orleans vs. Packers, Giants vs. Cards
Notes from the Edge: (November 18th)
Matt Cassel continues to improve and has a solid matchup
on Sunday vs. the Dolphins.
Thomas Jones will come back to earth against the Titans.
Peyton Hillis had a memorable start at tailback but will be
relegated to goal line touches when Selvin Young returns
and Tatum Bell gets up to speed.
Michael Jenkins performances may stagnate as opposing
defenses mark him.
Joseph Addai is back in stride leaving Dominic Rhodes
with the crumbs.
Marvin Harrison displayed flashes of his former brilliance.
He faces another good opponent in the Chargers.
Steve Slaton is dynamite when the matchup is favorable
but will yield at the goal line to Ahman Green. He faces
a Cleveland run defense which yields a generous 4.7 ypc.
Please drop the "Edge" a line if you locate Owen Daniels.
Actually he's likely to emerge this week vs. the Browns.
Ted Ginn Jr. is a veritable yo-yo. The ups & downs make
him a risky play as a #3. He has a soft Patriots backline
upcoming which has yielded 7.2 ypa and 16 aerial TD's.
The Ronnie Brown/Ricky Williams combo is tough to
sort out week over week and should be avoided if possible.
Justin Fargas is a good back & playable vs. the Broncos.
Darren McFadden may also be usable but only if he has
at least a full practice on Thursday or Friday.
Ronald Curry is out of the doghouse & would be a fair #3
if Champ Bailey is still sidelined.
Only an injury could stop Brandon Jacobs. He bruised a
knee against the Ravens.
Plaxico Burress may actually have a decent game vs. the
Cards.

although he would have a tough start vs. the Eagles.
Joe Flacco continues to play well & can be added for depth
at QB but is not likely to fare well vs. Philadelphia.

Jake Delhomme seems to have lost his way. Unfortunately
he's taken Steve Smith with him.
Daunte Culpepper has good matchups in weeks 14 & 16.
He's serviceable if your starter at QB has a tough opponent
in either of those weeks.
Kevin Smith has become a playable #2 RB but the Bucs
loom on the horizon and sport a solid run defense that has
allowed only 1 rushing TD all season.
Donovan McNabb spoke out about the team stepping up
to meet the upcoming challenges then proceeded to play
an awful game. What ever happened to leading by example.
Brian Westbrook is simply not himself. He claims to be
fine but is more likely dealing with various injuries.
T.J. Houshmandzadeh had a coming out party against
a very good Eagles secondary. He's a must play the rest
of the way.
Cedric Benson had 29 touches vs. Philadelphia. He's
playable in the right situation but not vs. the Steelers.
Ryan Grant has turned the corner as he overwhelmed a
solid Bears interior defense.
Kyle Orton is likely to have a bounce back outing vs. the
Rams.
Devin Hester has completely fallen from grace as he was
replaced on kickoff returns in the 4th quarter by Danieal
Manning. He'll probably get this job back but should not
be on any rosters.
Pierre Thomas was featured vs. the Chiefs indicating
that the Saints are anticipating that Deuce McAllister
will be suspended. Reggie Bush should return this week
but Thomas has value as a #2 RB when the opponent is
favorable. He's a reasonable play vs. the Packers.
Larry Johnson's return to action was disappointing as he
was unable to score at the goal line on 2 separate drives.
With that said, he was featured and needed this game to
get in shape. He has a good test vs. a solid Bills defense
which only allows 3.7 ypc.
Tyler Thigpen may have secured the Chiefs QB gig
even after Brodie Croyle returns to action. Dwayne
Bowe has been the primary beneficiary of Thigpen's
emergence at the position.
Jeff Garcia is frenetic on the field but serviceable. The
hapless Lions are next on the list.
Earnest Graham may be done for the season with an
ankle injury. Warrick Dunn gets a solid upgrade to a
#2 vs. Detroit. Cadillac Williams might even get a
tote or 2.
Joey Galloway has lost his job to Antonio Bryant &
holds no value.
Gus Frerotte is playable vs. the Jaguars but should
not be a first option.
Shaun Hill has been charged with Rams abuse. He's
likely to have the tables turned vs. the Cowboys.
Isaac Bruce has been minimized in the Martz offense.
Bryant Johnson or a healthy Josh Morgan are better
49ers receiver options.
Marc Bulger, Torry Holt and Donnie Avery are hit
and miss but mostly miss. All of these guys are starts
of last resort.
Antonio Pittman was impressive filling in for Steven
Jackson against a solid 49ers run defense. He's likely
to start again vs. the Bears & is not a preferred play.
Tim Hightower owners have to be disappointed & are
likely to be underwhelmed again as he faces the Giants.
Matt Hasselbeck may have suffered a concussion in
the Cardinals game. He'll need all of his faculties vs
the Redskins.
Deion Branch returned to action successfully & built
immediate rapport with Hasselbeck. The Redskins
are stingy in the secondary which will impact Deion's
production. He has great matchups in week 15 and 16
vs. the Rams and Jets.
Kerry Collins had another great day of throwing the
football connecting with Justin Gage on 2 scores. The
Titans are going to be hard to beat if that continues.
David Garrard felt the wrath of a tenacious Titans
defense. He'll bounceback against the Vikings.
Willie Parker was rock solid with the ball rendering
Mewelde Moore virtually useless. If Parker comes
out of this game healthy Moore becomes expendable,
if you need help elsewhere.
Philip Rivers, Antonio Gates, Chris Chambers &
Vincent Jackson would agree that the Steelers pass
defense is awesome.
Tony Romo really needed Sunday night's game to
get back up to speed. He's likely to return to form vs.
the 49ers which have allowed 15 passing TD's.
Terrell Owens is likely to benefit the most from the
return of Romo. Keep Owens active.
Clinton Portis ran with abandon vs. the Cowboys.
So much for all the rhetoric that had Portis out with
a serious knee issue.
Jason Campbell has been underachieving of late
but may rise to prominence against the Seahawks.

sloppy performance in Cincinnati. He is likely to play
well against a solid defense that was demoralized by the

on Sunday vs. the Dolphins.
Thomas Jones will come back to earth against the Titans.

relegated to goal line touches when Selvin Young returns
and Tatum Bell gets up to speed.
Michael Jenkins performances may stagnate as opposing
defenses mark him.
Joseph Addai is back in stride leaving Dominic Rhodes

Browns 29-/Bills 27- Braylon Edwards (10) seems to
be focused again while Lewis (6), Winslow (4) & Quinn
(6) underachieved. Jerome Harrison (16) made the most
from 4 touches. Marshawn Lynch (22) has 33 touches &
was outstanding. Edwards (12) had a rushing TD to avert
another fantasy disaster. Lee Evans (0) was shutout. The
Bills (0) defense disappointed.
